Switzer Farm Wedding | Wow guys! Just Wow! This Switzer Farm wedding was incredible. The couple, the location, the people, it was the perfect day, and I think Brittanie and Nick would agree!
About Switzer Farm
Switzer Farm is a private, large residence venue on the Mendocino coast. It has beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean, and is surround by the forest. The property is rented out for the weekend, so you get the place to yourself! And depending on the size of you wedding, many of your family or bridal party can stay with you.
The historic Victorian farmhouse house has 7 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and a gourmet kitchen. The home was beautifully restored down to every last detail! So, you can have your rehearsal dinner, wedding and post wedding brunch all in one location without ever having to leave! Especially nice if any of the groomsmen accidentally have too much to drink! (haha! I say groomsmen because there is always one!) They just walk right upstairs to bed 🙂 And if you are having more guests than can fit in the house, there are 2 close by towns that others can stay! This includes Westport and Fort Bragg.
The space is vast yet private. The views are breathtaking and the landscape is diverse for lots of different photo opportunities. This venue is one of a kind. It can accommodate various group sizes, whether a small intimate wedding, or a gathering of 150 people. Many people are blown away with their venue visits. Especially because the owner is very friendly and helpful. He gives you a tour of the home and tells you all about its history. In the wedding industry, it’s unique to receive such a personal and meaningful experience. They really make their visitors feel welcome, and are excited to be a part of your wedding story.
The weather was absolutely perfect. Warm during the day, and cool at night. Northern California’s weather is more mild than So Cal (where we are!) so this October day was beautiful!

The First Look
The bride and groom told us that the first look was one of their favorite moments of the day. We feel it is the perfect opportunity for you both to pause and be authentically present in the moment. There is always so much going on on the day of the wedding. The first look is an intentional uninterrupted moment to be together and take it all in. Brittanie said “I felt so much warmth in my skin when I hugged Nicholas and he turned around before I could even wrap my arms around him. He’s pretty sure he cried for 45 minutes straight, but the smile in his eyes was there for the rest of the night. It felt so nice to have some time to share our feelings and emotions before the ceremony.”

Meaningful Moments
This toast at sunset on the Pacific Coast was one of the best parts of the day. The bride and groom specifically chose to pause and watch the sunset with all of their guests from the porch of the residence. And this moment created special memories from their day. Here are a few words from the Bride to explain why.
“It was important to us to carve out a little time for our guests and ourselves to enjoy the sunset over the Pacific Ocean. Many of our guests were coming from afar and some had never even seen a sunset over the ocean, so we wanted to ensure they had the opportunity to watch uninterrupted while knowing they were sharing this experience with so many people they didn’t even know.
Sunsets have always been special to us and as with everyone I am sure, they are symbolic to us as an ending that marks a new beginning. We are so glad to have punctuated our wedding with a beautiful sunset shared with so many beautiful people!”
