Want to see one of the coolest proposals ever? Here’s the full story of Brilane & Daniel’s proposal, written by Brilane herself:

“July 15, 2012 was Daniel’s 27th birthday and I had been planning his beach birthday party for about 3 months! (I know, I started early, but ask Daniel–I am too much of a “planner” to have started that any later.) Because of this, my mind was so consumed with making sure I got out invites, what food we were going to bring and how much we were going to have, do I have enough chairs, what would the weather be like, etc…you get the picture…my mind was on everything, BUT getting proposed to! On Thursday, 4 days before the party, I got a voicemail from Daniel’s friend, Matt, letting me know that he, Brett, Ryan, Casey, and Sean had all pitched in and got Daniel a surfboard for his birthday! Their idea was to present it to Daniel at the beach party (very fitting, right?!) as a big surprise! Since I was at work, I think I went on and on about how great of an idea that was to some of my Disney friends. I even texted Matt and said that they were all so awesome and Daniel will be so excited! He let me know that they wanted to come up with some cool plan to surprise him, and that maybe I could help.

So it was about 2:00 pm and the beach party was going great. Most of the people that told me they were coming were there already, and I was so anxious and excited to surprise Daniel! Matt snuck over to me and says that they want me to “distract” Daniel by taking him out on a walk or something to get him away from the party. They were going to set the surfboard in the sand and when we came back from where ever we were, everyone would surprise him! Matt told me to take my phone with me so that he could text me and let me know when we should start heading back. I was concerned that Daniel would not want to go on a walk since so many of our friends and family were there and we would  just be leaving everyone and the party. Matt replied, “Oh, Daniel is so sentimental, he will want to do it! Just go ask him!” So, I casually walked over to Daniel and he asked me first, “hey, do you want to go down to the water to swim?!” So I ever so smoothly replied, “Well, how about we go for a walk instead?” He said, “sure!” And I remember turning to Matt and giving him that “thumbs up” look. Since Sean wasn’t there yet, I tried to stall. I told Daniel we should wait until Sean gets here and then we can go. Once Sean arrived, I tried to stall even more so I didn’t seem like I was in some kind of rush to get away. I seriously took my time. (Poor Daniel…haha). Finally, we went out for our walk.

If you know Daniel and I, you know that we are super mushy, lovey-dovey, and cheesy. So acting this way together on our walk was nothing out of the norm. We went for a walk along the water, occasionally stopping to draw hearts in the sand with our names in it, collect seashells, kiss, sing the Sleeping Beauty song (that was Daniel doing that, not me…hahaha), dance together, practice the “princess” lift (haha, if you know what I am talking about, imagine that happening with tons of people around at the shoreline…and we pretty much perfected it this time :), and continued to walk and hold hands. He kept telling me it was a good idea to go on the walk to get away for a minute and just “be together.” Suddenly, I got a text from Matt saying we should head back. Right around that same time, I also got a text from my friend, Hannah, saying that she had just got there. So I told Daniel that Hannah was here now, so maybe we should head back to our family and friends (so he wouldn’t wonder what was texted to me and why I all of a sudden wanted to go back). As we were walking back, holding hands and talking, we stopped for a moment to kiss. I will never forget the feeling of his heart beat that I felt in his back! With my arms wrapped around him, his heart was just pounding! I pulled back and teased him about being tired from our little walk, and that he really was getting old. He just laughed, so I said, “or maybe I just make your heart beat fast.” He claimed that was it. 🙂 Yet, I still didn’t think of anything since I was focused on getting him back to HIS surprise…clever, Daniel…very clever. We walked down a little further and all of a sudden he turned to face me and said, very quickly, something along the lines of: “Brilane, you have made me feel like the luckiest guy in the whole world,” and instantly, I heard tons of screaming, cheering, clapping, yelling from the pier (which was above us), so I turned to look and I see all of our family and friends lined up along the pier wearing shirts that spelled out: “WILL YOU MARRY ME?”

Here they come! Brilane is SO oblivious to what’s about to happen.

And the she looks at the pier…

…looks back to Daniel as he kneels down…

More from Brilane: “I turn back to look at Daniel and he is on one knee holding out the most beautiful ring I’ve ever seen! I then heard cheers and clapping from every direction! My emotions at the time?: COMPLETE shock!!! I think I said, “OH MY GOSH, are you serious?!” about 15 times before I could say “YES!” My hands were shaking as he slide the ring on my finger and then he picked me up in his arms.”

Here’s a shot someone got from the pier that shows what a creeper I looked like. Parents were giving me odd and dirty looks as I was standing there with 2 cameras and a Jesus beard and wig in the middle of hundreds of children running around.

“It was the best moment of my life, as we were both just completely consumed with complete happiness. I could not believe that I had just been proposed to by my best friend and the best guy I have ever known. As he is holding me, I see this creepy bearded man circling us with a camera and I yell out, “Who’s that?!” Then Brett took off his odd beach bum disguise (haha), so we were lucky enough to get amazing photos of that insane moment, since he is a professional photographer! (Thanks Brett Benham!) Daniel’s good friend, Adam, also video-taped the whole thing! I remember that we kept looking at each other and saying “I love you so so so much,” with tears in our eyes. It was the best moment anyone could ever imagine.”

“Shortly after, all of our friends and family came down from the pier to congratulate us and hug us. It could not have been planned better to have everyone there. It was so great to be with those special people right after that special moment!”

“We all headed back to our bon fire to have s’mores and celebrate our engagement! It was the best day of my life! I am beyond excited to be engaged to Daniel. He is everything I have ever wanted and more. I could not say enough good things about this man, and now I get to be with him forever! He put so much into this proposal to make sure that everything went according to his plan and to make sure that I would be surprised. He knew that I would like to have our family and friends there to celebrate with us and he truly made the entire moment so magical with every detail. I cannot wait to marry him!!! :)Oh, and in case you are still wondering about the surf board (like I was), that was made up….good job, Matt and Daniel! Haha…but they were prepared! Brett and Tori brought one in their truck in case I asked to see it before the “surprise!” ;)”

Pretty awesome proposal if I say so myself! So glad I was able to participate and see it all go down! Congratulations to the future Mr. & Mrs. Bobrink!
