As a southern California photography duo, we are always excited for the opportunity to photograph at a new location. This urban wedding took place at 440 Seaton in downtown Los Angeles. We photographed this wedding in October, which is consistently our busiest month of the year. While shooting this wedding, I realized why October is always so busy; the weather is perfect! The days are warm and sunny, but the evening temperature drops to a comfortable 65 degrees. As we have not yet ended daylight saving time, the later sunset allows for more photo opportunities using natural light!
440 Seaton is an industrial warehouse space in the arts district of downtown Los Angeles. This large, attractive venue allows for creativity and personalization to truly make your wedding one of a kind. Additionally, it is surrounded by the city, which allowed us to explore and get some unique photos of the bride and groom. It has a great central location to many popular LA destinations, which is fun for those local to the area, as well as out of town. I think one thing that made this wedding so spectacular is that Lizzie and Adam truly made this event unique to them.
Our one piece of advice (not unsolicited!) that we give to couples getting married is to make this day how YOU want. There are no rules. Make it unique to YOU. Adam and Lizzie did of great job of personalizing their day. Whether its the decorations, close friends officiating the ceremony, meaningful traditions, or serving dessert to your guests, there are many ways to personalize your day and make it extraordinary!
